John Moore

John Moore (1761-1809) was an English physician and writer known for his satirical and humorous novels set in rural England. His most famous work, "Zeluco: Various Views of Human Nature Taken from Life and Manners, Foreign and Domestic" (1789), is a psychological novel that explores the darker side of human nature. Moore's writing style is characterized by wit, irony, and keen observations of society. He is considered a pioneer in the development of the psychological novel and has had a significant influence on the genre of satire in English literature.
