This introductory course encompasses everything budding and intermediate-level artists need to get started: basic materials and tools; wet and dry techniques; color, texture, and composition; perspective and depth in drawing; maximizing a limited palette; and enhancing and burnishing colors. Sixteen skill-building projects and practical exercises are demonstrated through 150 color photographs, with detailed instruction in the four most commonly explored artistic subjects: still life, landscape, people, and animals.
